Short codes are the original form of A2P messaging and are considered the most trusted by both users are carriers. This increased level of trust can also translate to greater reliability as the mobile carriers, having individually reviewed short code applications, are confident that the content is spam and fraud free.

Messaging via short codes offers the highest potential throughput. An exclusive benefit is in handset delivery notification. With long codes and toll free messaging, the carriers do not guarantee that notification of delivery means the message has made it to the handset. With short codes, you can be assured that delivery means your message has reached the handset.

Short Code Registration​

Fees​

Short codes are the most costly of the three number types:

  • $500 application fee
  • $500 / month usage fee
